Because Syria, with Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, has devised evil against you, saying,
They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
And I am exceedingly angry with the nations that are at ease; for while I was angry but a little, they furthered the disaster.
From you came one who plotted evil against the Lord, a worthless counselor.
