But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?”
And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.”
But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable.
You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?”
who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
So they said to him, “Then how were your eyes opened?”
Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?”
Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?”
But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
And they say, “How can God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”
But you say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the deep darkness?
But a stupid man will get understanding when a wild donkey's colt is born a man!
