Happy are your men! Happy are your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!
Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.
The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense.
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.
Happy are your wives! Happy are these your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!
