And Saul hurled the spear, for he thought, “I will pin David to the wall.” But David evaded him twice.
But Saul hurled his spear at him to strike him. So Jonathan knew that his father was determined to put David to death.
no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.
So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
But passing through their midst, he went away.
The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.
Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?
Then a harmful spirit from the Lord came upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing the lyre. And Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he eluded Saul, so that he struck the spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.
