for we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of man.
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.
Abstain from every form of evil.
For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.
So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander.
So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.
so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
