Now Absalom, David's son, had a beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar. And after a time Amnon, David's son, loved her.
All these were David's sons, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar was their sister.
And sons were born to David at Hebron: his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam of Jezreel; and his second, Chileab, of Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;
the third, Absalom, whose mother was Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur; the fourth, Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith;
There were born to Absalom three sons, and one daughter whose name was Tamar. She was a beautiful woman.
Then Amnon hated her with very great hatred, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, “Get up! Go!”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes;
Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women,
It happened, late one afternoon, when David arose from his couch and was walking on the roof of the king's house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful.
So he left all that he had in Joseph's charge, and because of him he had no concern about anything but the food he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance. And after a time his master's wife cast her eyes on Joseph and said, “Lie with me.”
And his soul was drawn to Dinah the daughter of Jacob. He loved the young woman and spoke tenderly to her.
So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.
Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.”
the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.
