Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions,
I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!
For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.
I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view, and the one who is troubling you will bear the penalty, whoever he is.
But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
But even Titus, who was with me, was not forced to be circumcised, though he was a Greek. Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery—
Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.
You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith. Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
