saying, “This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law.”
Paul argued in his defense, “Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I committed any offense.”
For we have found this man a plague, one who stirs up riots among all the Jews throughout the world and is a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. He even tried to profane the temple, but we seized him.
crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place. Moreover, he even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”
and they set up false witnesses who said, “This man never ceases to speak words against this holy place and the law,
But since it is a matter of questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of these things.”
And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks.
