And when they had withdrawn, they said to one another, “This man is doing nothing to deserve death or imprisonment.”
I found that he was being accused about questions of their law, but charged with nothing deserving death or imprisonment.
Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?”
When they had examined me, they wished to set me at liberty, because there was no reason for the death penalty in my case.

But I found that he had done nothing deserving death. And as he himself appealed to the emperor, I decided to go ahead and send him.
and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was misleading the people. And after examining him before you, behold, I did not find this man guilty of any of your charges against him. Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, nothing deserving death has been done by him.
Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no guilt in this man.”
Then David spoke to the Lord when he saw the angel who was striking the people, and said, “Behold, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand be against me and against my father's house.”
