Dead flies make the perfumer's ointment give off a stench; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? For this purpose he was hired, that I should be afraid and act in this way and sin, and so they could give me a bad name in order to taunt me.
