After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, and advanced him and set his throne above all the officials who were with him.
Water shall flow from his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters; his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
and over them three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these satraps should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss.
And Haman recounted to them the splendor of his riches, the number of his sons, all the promotions with which the king had honored him, and how he had advanced him above the officials and the servants of the king.
So the king took his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews.
And Samuel said, “As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women.” And Samuel hacked Agag to pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.
You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.”
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
On every side the wicked prowl, as vileness is exalted among the children of man.
Then Esther spoke again to the king. She fell at his feet and wept and pleaded with him to avert the evil plan of Haman the Agagite and the plot that he had devised against the Jews.
And Esther said, “A foe and enemy! This wicked Haman!” Then Haman was terrified before the king and the queen.
the men next to him being Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, who saw the king's face, and sat first in the kingdom):
For you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to make inquiries about Judah and Jerusalem according to the Law of your God, which is in your hand,
And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive and devoted to destruction all the people with the edge of the sword.
