(Laban gave his female servant Zilpah to his daughter Leah to be her servant.)
When Leah saw that she had ceased bearing children, she took her servant Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife. Then Leah's servant Zilpah bore Jacob a son. And Leah said, “Good fortune has come!” so she called his name Gad. Leah's servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son.
Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar.
These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bore to Jacob—sixteen persons.
So they sent away Rebekah their sister and her nurse, and Abraham's servant and his men.
