I have oxen, donkeys, flocks, male servants, and female servants. I have sent to tell my lord, in order that I may find favor in your sight.’”
Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company that I met?” Jacob answered, “To find favor in the sight of my lord.”
So Esau said, “Let me leave with you some of the people who are with me.” But he said, “What need is there? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”
Have I said, ‘Make me a gift’? Or, ‘From your wealth offer a bribe for me’?
Then the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that belonged to Mephibosheth is now yours.” And Ziba said, “I pay homage; let me ever find favor in your sight, my lord the king.”
And she said, “Let your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.”
And they said, “You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh.”
Please accept my blessing that is brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” Thus he urged him, and he took it.
All the wealth that God has taken away from our father belongs to us and to our children. Now then, whatever God has said to you, do.”
Thus the man increased greatly and had large flocks, female servants and male servants, and camels and donkeys. Now Jacob heard that the sons of Laban were saying, “Jacob has taken all that was our father's, and from what was our father's he has gained all this wealth.”
