Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways.
Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord!
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
Now then, consider from this day onward. Before stone was placed upon stone in the temple of the Lord, how did you fare? When one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but ten. When one came to the wine vat to draw fifty measures, there were but twenty. I struck you and all the products of your toil with blight and with mildew and with hail, yet you did not turn to me, declares the Lord. Consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Since the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid, consider:
“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways.
“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!
But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.
but whoever did not pay attention to the word of the Lord left his slaves and his livestock in the field.
Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.
Then the king, when he heard these words, was much distressed and set his mind to deliver Daniel. And he labored till the sun went down to rescue him.
And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order that I might show it to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.”
Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
consider well her ramparts, go through her citadels, that you may tell the next generation
Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take even this to heart.
