For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
“With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?
I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.”
O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father kingship and greatness and glory and majesty.
They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God their redeemer.
His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.
Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered. And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.
She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.”
He was driven from among the children of mankind, and his mind was made like that of a beast, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, until he knew that the Most High God rules the kingdom of mankind and sets over it whom he will.
It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has done for me.
Who stirred up one from the east whom victory meets at every step? He gives up nations before him, so that he tramples kings underfoot; he makes them like dust with his sword, like driven stubble with his bow. He pursues them and passes on safely, by paths his feet have not trod.
Yet they tested and rebelled against the Most High God and did not keep his testimonies,
