There will be bare places by the Nile, on the brink of the Nile, and all that is sown by the Nile will be parched, will be driven away, and will be no more.
The seed shrivels under the clods; the storehouses are desolate; the granaries are torn down because the grain has dried up. How the beasts groan! The herds of cattle are perplexed because there is no pasture for them; even the flocks of sheep suffer.
Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.
Because of the ground that is dismayed, since there is no rain on the land, the farmers are ashamed; they cover their heads.
Happy are you who sow beside all waters, who let the feet of the ox and the donkey range free.
And on many waters your revenue was the grain of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile; you were the merchant of the nations.
