They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a day of distress, of rebuke, and of disgrace; children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth.
Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?” says the Lord; “shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?” says your God.
The pangs of childbirth come for him, but he is an unwise son, for at the right time he does not present himself at the opening of the womb.
Like a pregnant woman who writhes and cries out in her pangs when she is near to giving birth, so were we because of you, O Lord; we were pregnant, we writhed, but we have given birth to wind. We have accomplished no deliverance in the earth, and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen.
and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”

O Lord, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
but when in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found by them.
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,

For the Lord God of hosts has a day of tumult and trampling and confusion in the valley of vision, a battering down of walls and a shouting to the mountains.
