“Therefore I still contend with you, declares the Lord, and with your children's children I will contend.
And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face. As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, declares the Lord God.
you say, ‘I am innocent; surely his anger has turned from me.’ Behold, I will bring you to judgment for saying, ‘I have not sinned.’
Hear, you mountains, the indictment of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has an indictment against his people, and he will contend with Israel.
You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
“Plead with your mother, plead— for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband— that she put away her whoring from her face, and her adultery from between her breasts;
“Why do you contend with me? You have all transgressed against me, declares the Lord.
Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right.
The Lord has taken his place to contend; he stands to judge peoples.
then I will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people, him and all who follow him in whoring after Molech.
