The tents of robbers are at peace, and those who provoke God are secure, who bring their god in their hand.
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; he covers the faces of its judges— if it is not he, who then is it?
And they say, “How can God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?” Behold, these are the wicked; always at ease, they increase in riches.
Why do the wicked live, reach old age, and grow mighty in power? Their offspring are established in their presence, and their descendants before their eyes. Their houses are safe from fear, and no rod of God is upon them. Their bull breeds without fail; their cow calves and does not miscarry. They send out their little boys like a flock, and their children dance.
Like a cage full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; therefore they have become great and rich;
I have seen a wicked, ruthless man, spreading himself like a green laurel tree.
Of David. Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!
from men by your hand, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their womb with treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.
Yet he filled their houses with good things— but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
