Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, older than your father.
And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said: “I am young in years, and you are aged; therefore I was timid and afraid to declare my opinion to you. I said, ‘Let days speak, and many years teach wisdom.’
Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.
He deprives of speech those who are trusted and takes away the discernment of the elders.
Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days.
“For inquire, please, of bygone ages, and consider what the fathers have searched out. For we are but of yesterday and know nothing, for our days on earth are a shadow. Will they not teach you and tell you and utter words out of their understanding?
Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you.
