My eye has grown dim from vexation, and all my members are like a shadow.
My face is red with weeping, and on my eyelids is deep darkness,
Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also. For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away.
My eye wastes away because of grief; it grows weak because of all my foes.
For this our heart has become sick, for these things our eyes have grown dim,
For who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life, which he passes like a shadow? For who can tell man what will be after him under the sun?
I am gone like a shadow at evening; I am shaken off like a locust.
And he has shriveled me up, which is a witness against me, and my leanness has risen up against me; it testifies to my face.
