“How long will you hunt for words? Consider, and then we will speak.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.
“But now, hear my speech, O Job, and listen to all my words.
“Keep listening to my words, and let this be your comfort.
“I have heard many such things; miserable comforters are you all. Shall windy words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer?
Oh that you would keep silent, and it would be your wisdom! Hear now my argument and listen to the pleadings of my lips.
“Should a multitude of words go unanswered, and a man full of talk be judged right?
“How long will you say these things, and the words of your mouth be a great wind?
There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest.
Let gloom and deep darkness claim it. Let clouds dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it. That night—let thick darkness seize it! Let it not rejoice among the days of the year; let it not come into the number of the months.
