“If I have made gold my trust or called fine gold my confidence,
Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.
“See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and sought refuge in his own destruction!”
those who trust in their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches? Truly no man can ransom another, or give to God the price of his life,
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.
A rich man's wealth is his strong city; the poverty of the poor is their ruin.
Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.
For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him.

And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
Now Jacob heard that the sons of Laban were saying, “Jacob has taken all that was our father's, and from what was our father's he has gained all this wealth.”
