With fierceness and rage he swallows the ground; he cannot stand still at the sound of the trumpet.
And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
Their horses are swifter than leopards, more fierce than the evening wolves; their horsemen press proudly on. Their horsemen come from afar; they fly like an eagle swift to devour. They all come for violence, all their faces forward. They gather captives like sand.
Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the Lord has done it?
My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain! Oh the walls of my heart! My heart is beating wildly; I cannot keep silent, for I hear the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
Shall it be told him that I would speak? Did a man ever wish that he would be swallowed up?
I smiled on them when they had no confidence, and the light of my face they did not cast down.
If I summoned him and he answered me, I would not believe that he was listening to my voice.
