If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
This Moses did; according to all that the Lord commanded him, so he did.
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways! You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently. Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes!
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
