Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:
Of David. To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary.
I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah Answer me quickly, O Lord! My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit. Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.
