“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When any one of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of livestock from the herd or from the flock.
“Speak to Aaron and his sons and all the people of Israel and say to them, When any one of the house of Israel or of the sojourners in Israel presents a burnt offering as his offering, for any of their vows or freewill offerings that they offer to the Lord, if it is to be accepted for you it shall be a male without blemish, of the bulls or the sheep or the goats.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness;
but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell.
In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground,
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
