And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
“Thus the Lord has done for me in the days when he looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.”
And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth,
If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord!
Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a redeemer, and may his name be renowned in Israel! He shall be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is more to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.” Then Naomi took the child and laid him on her lap and became his nurse. And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.
Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?” says the Lord; “shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?” says your God. “Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice with her in joy, all you who mourn over her;
And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.”
Behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in saving my life. But I cannot escape to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me and I die.
