And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
But he said to them, “How can they say that the Christ is David's son? For David himself says in the Book of Psalms, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”’ David thus calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”
Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’? If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
At that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me.
Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret.
Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”
And every day he was teaching in the temple, but at night he went out and lodged on the mount called Olivet.
One day, as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes with the elders came up
And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him,
And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him,
And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.”
