When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away.
And they were seeking to arrest him but feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they left him and went away.
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.
He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they were not able in the presence of the people to catch him in what he said, but marveling at his answer they became silent.
And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
And when the crowd heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
