For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.
Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I am only joking!”
Doing wrong is like a joke to a fool, but wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding.
This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says, “I have done no wrong.”

What man is like Job, who drinks up scoffing like water, who travels in company with evildoers and walks with wicked men? For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should take delight in God.’
how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks injustice like water!
