These also are proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied.
The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:
He also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005.
The word of the Lord that came to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
The word of the Lord that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.
Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of the Rabshakeh.
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging many proverbs with great care.
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.
