I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord,
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.
Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name!
In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.
The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.
I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.
