My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
Your hands fashioned and made me, and now you have destroyed me altogether. Remember that you have made me like clay; and will you return me to the dust? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese? You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth;
(In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?
and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the cattle.
