Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame! In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me!
And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.
“You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame. You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame.
Preserve my life, for I am godly; save your servant, who trusts in you—you are my God.
Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog! Save me from the mouth of the lion! You have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen!
Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings,
