I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah
I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!
“As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”
For the Lord has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: “This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.
I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”
Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy!
and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them. To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.
A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A Prayer. With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord. I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him. When my spirit faints within me, you know my way! In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all the day. Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.
