For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they were created. And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.
Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.
