Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!
Of David. Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me!
Of David. Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
The Lord judges the peoples; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.
Vindicate me, O Lord, my God, according to your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me!
May the Lord therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you, and see to it and plead my cause and deliver me from your hand.”
Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man.
You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall look upon his vindication.
When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.
For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me.
for their Redeemer is strong; he will plead their cause against you.
for the Lord will plead their cause and rob of life those who rob them.
but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.
Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give your counsel. What shall we do?” Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your father's concubines, whom he has left to keep the house, and all Israel will hear that you have made yourself a stench to your father, and the hands of all who are with you will be strengthened.” So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof. And Absalom went in to his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel. Now in those days the counsel that Ahithophel gave was as if one consulted the word of God; so was all the counsel of Ahithophel esteemed, both by David and by Absalom. Moreover, Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue David tonight.
And it was told David, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, please turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”
