I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn;
And I said, “What are these coming to do?” He said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one raised his head. And these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense.
“How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?
He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the Lord!
Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise?
For you are the glory of their strength; by your favor our horn is exalted.
“How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;
and about the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn that came up and before which three of them fell, the horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and that seemed greater than its companions. As I looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them,
Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”
