Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine.
Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever!
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?
The Lord goes out like a mighty man, like a man of war he stirs up his zeal; he cries out, he shouts aloud, he shows himself mighty against his foes. For a long time I have held my peace; I have kept still and restrained myself; now I will cry out like a woman in labor; I will gasp and pant.
Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms.
Arise, O Lord, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment.
