but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares the Lord, to deliver you.”
And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Do you not fear me? declares the Lord. Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
“Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me.
lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
The east wind lifts him up and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place. It hurls at him without pity; he flees from its power in headlong flight. It claps its hands at him and hisses at him from its place.
The eye that saw him will see him no more, nor will his place any more behold him.
If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have never seen you.’
he returns no more to his house, nor does his place know him anymore.
All nations surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I cut them off! They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side; in the name of the Lord I cut them off! They surrounded me like bees; they went out like a fire among thorns; in the name of the Lord I cut them off! I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me.
