Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.
Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching,
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures.
So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.
