If it is a contest of strength, behold, he is mighty! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?
For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together. There is no arbiter between us, who might lay his hand on us both.
He is wise in heart and mighty in strength —who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded?—
Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,
Have you an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his? “Adorn yourself with majesty and dignity; clothe yourself with glory and splendor.
“But you are full of the judgment on the wicked; judgment and justice seize you. Beware lest wrath entice you into scoffing, and let not the greatness of the ransom turn you aside. Will your cry for help avail to keep you from distress, or all the force of your strength?
Answer me, if you can; set your words in order before me; take your stand. Behold, I am toward God as you are; I too was pinched off from a piece of clay. Behold, no fear of me need terrify you; my pressure will not be heavy upon you.
Oh, that I had one to hear me! (Here is my signature! Let the Almighty answer me!) Oh, that I had the indictment written by my adversary!
