So Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.”
Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.
Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,
Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot,
Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same.
And when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James.
Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.” Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
The disciples said to him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?”
Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.”
