And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour?
And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?
And when he rose from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow,
And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they became fully awake they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him.
Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same.
Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.”
As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept.
And the king of Israel answered, “Tell him, ‘Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself as he who takes it off.’”
Then in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, rise early and rush upon the city. And when he and the people who are with him come out against you, you may do to them as your hand finds to do.”
I slept, but my heart was awake. A sound! My beloved is knocking. “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one, for my head is wet with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.”
And David said to Abner, “Are you not a man? Who is like you in Israel? Why then have you not kept watch over your lord the king? For one of the people came in to destroy the king your lord. This thing that you have done is not good. As the Lord lives, you deserve to die, because you have not kept watch over your lord, the Lord's anointed. And now see where the king's spear is and the jar of water that was at his head.”
