like Sheol let us swallow them alive, and whole, like those who go down to the pit;
then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us;

Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha, our heart's desire!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.”
For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue.
and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, when the fire devoured 250 men, and they became a warning.
