A Song of Ascents. Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord!
A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me.
Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord, give praise, O servants of the Lord, who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God!
Now these, the singers, the heads of fathers' houses of the Levites, were in the chambers of the temple free from other service, for they were on duty day and night.
And from the throne came a voice saying, “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great.”
My sons, do not now be negligent, for the Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him and to be his ministers and make offerings to him.”
A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
At the entrance of the tent of meeting you shall remain day and night for seven days, performing what the Lord has charged, so that you do not die, for so I have been commanded.”
and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.
A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
O house of Israel, bless the Lord! O house of Aaron, bless the Lord! O house of Levi, bless the Lord! You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord! Blessed be the Lord from Zion, he who dwells in Jerusalem! Praise the Lord!

A Song of Ascents. Of David. O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.
my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.
A Song of Ascents. “Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth”— let Israel now say—
A Song of Ascents. Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways!
A Song of Ascents. When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.
A Song of Ascents. To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!
And they were to stand every morning, thanking and praising the Lord, and likewise at evening, and whenever burnt offerings were offered to the Lord on Sabbaths, new moons, and feast days, according to the number required of them, regularly before the Lord. Thus they were to keep charge of the tent of meeting and the sanctuary, and to attend the sons of Aaron, their brothers, for the service of the house of the Lord.
At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord to stand before the Lord to minister to him and to bless in his name, to this day.
A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will!
A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
A Song of Ascents. Of David. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side— let Israel now say—
So they and their sons were in charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, that is, the house of the tent, as guards.
“Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
