Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that had come upon him, they came each from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. They made an appointment together to come to show him sympathy and comfort him.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Then came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and ate bread with him in his house. And they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him. And each of them gave him a piece of money and a ring of gold.
Concerning Edom. Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
“He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother.
Have mercy on me, have mercy on me, O you my friends, for the hand of God has touched me!
“I have heard many such things; miserable comforters are you all.
The caravans of Tema look, the travelers of Sheba hope.

All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and said, “No, I shall go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” Thus his father wept for him.
These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: the chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,
The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.
These two things have happened to you— who will console you?— devastation and destruction, famine and sword; who will comfort you?
Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend, and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
After the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.
All my intimate friends abhor me, and those whom I loved have turned against me.
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
My friends scorn me; my eye pours out tears to God,
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said:
As for you, you whitewash with lies; worthless physicians are you all.
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
